"The Tactile Tapestries are a way for the viewer to experience the movement and textureof my fiber and crochet work through feel and touch. The movement of the work hidesand highlights different areas of the fabric. When the work is hand manipulated itreveals pockets of textures the viewer would never have experienced if they had notlooked for them. This demands one to interact directly with the work to truly “see” it.This work, like most of my fiber work, is made entirely organically. I do not follow apattern or have a solid idea of what the finished product will look like. I use a freeformcrochet method to make work through meditative processes. There may be somepatterns that naturally develop on their own, but they are not predetermined."
